There seem to be fundamental differences between what Eliezer and Robin accept as important to even think about, but I can't quite bring whatever it is into mental focus, which is why I'm posting this, maybe this will trigger something someone else has noticed as Carl trigger this.

Also, they seem to be arguing back and forth about two views of possible futures - but those views are nowhere near excluding other possible futures.
