i'd say: you don't have a phd, therfore you're not qualified to judge whether or not yudkowsky should have a phd.

it doesn't, it's a jocular reductio ad absurdum based on the irrationality of the underlying premise. 9_9 and what field are we talking here, education? phdology?

naw, i'm talking about what field qualifies you to judge how much not having a phd disqualifies you from judging statements on that subject.
