Still, expect to see some outraged comments on this very blog post, from commenters who think that it's selfish and immoral, and above all a failure of imagination, to talk about human-level minds still running around the day after the Singularity.

It won't be any of the ghastly things sometimes professed by the enthusiastic, but I think you should expect a creative surprise, and antipredict specific abstractions not obviously relevant to the whole of morality, such as gradual change in intelligence.
