None of those sound like arguments against anything.

1) If the universe doesn't care, then... ok, cool!

2) I may not be "dead" or "alive," but I just saw Halley's Comet for the 8th time.

3) The Cylons didn't seem to mind this too much.
3a) Would I want to keep every version of myself throughout my entire life alive anyway (age 7,338,512 seconds, etc)?

4) Ditto the meat replica

5) So then your Dad advocates FOR an FAI creating gateways to parallel universes, but NOT for immortality. Gotcha.
