I'm reminded of Peirce's invention of the term pragmaticism, as distinct from "pragmatism". For that matter, there are significant points of similarity between LW-type rationality and pragmaticism, such as the notion of belief being evidence-based anticipation of future experience.
Oh my..... this is the first time I've had the words stolen out from under my fingers before I could post them. Hmm, and beaten to the punch on bringing up Pierce to boot.
