My gut feeling is, that we are NOT inside a simulation. At least not in a one run by some anthropomorphic creatures. Or any creatures at all.
But suppose we are. Are our simulators also simulated? How far or high does it go? Why lose the raw computing power with some nested simulations?

Coolness factor. One test of how interesting the simulation you're running is whether it buds off simulations of its own.
My father, who is home recovering from surgery, emailed the following web page to me and a few other members of my family, and expressed interest in reading interesting responses.
Any thoughts?
