Sports is not a good example, because it's entertainment (fun!), so logic is not the most important thing there. Even a rationalist needs to let go sometimes and allow his/her cognitive biases run wild on occasion. Being Spock 100% of the time is boring. This applies only to fans and commentators, not coaches.
