I've reorganized this into a blog post incorporating what I've learned in the comments here.

Could you be explicit about what you learned? I can't tell from comparing the two posts.

Most of the blog post version is just reorganization and context for a different audience, but there are some changes reflecting learning about who is working on this. Specifically, I didn't know before about the OpenWorm project, Stephen Larson, David Dalrymple, or the 2009 and 2010 body model papers. While I think in a few years I'll be able to update my predictions based on their experiences, this new information about people currently working on the project didn't affect my understanding of how difficult or far away nematode simulation or WBE is.
