"Highly upvoted"? Ten or twenty anonymous people agreeing with you is hardly exceptional. I could find ten or twenty people that agree the Earth is flat and the clouds are made of fire. Or, for more LW flavor, I can find ten or twenty heavily committed deists.

Unpopular ideas can be right; popular ideas can be wrong. I had thought the water really was up to my ankles, but I guess it isn't, yet.
