But right now, my bet on how we’d end up spending that money is that we would personally argue for our mission to each of the world’s top mathematicians, AI researchers, physicists, and formal philosophers.

Is it known why they currently aren't working on FAI?

First thoughts:

1) Do they judge that they are having a bigger impact on the world doing what they are currently doing?

1a) Because they think it's more important?

1b) Because they think they have a comparative advantage in their current field, and that this outweighs the fact that FAI is more important.

2) If {!1},

2a) Is it because they're pursuing a terminal value other than altruism that is outweighing the altruistic benefits of FAI? Truth? Personal happiness?

2b) Are they not the kind of people who pursue their goals strategically? If this is the case, then I can't help but think that something in their brain is confused.

I'm not too confident, but I feel skeptical that they'd be too motivated by money. I mean, I think that everyone "has their price", and that A LOT of money would get them to work on it... but I'm skeptical that "normal a lot" would do the trick. Couldn't they be making millions already if they wanted too? And aren't a lot of them already making millions?
