Why not "optimality" and "optimalist"?

(I agree with jimrandomh's criticisms of replacing "rational" with "optimal": the replacement should not be done. But I have to confess to an initial, strongly positive reaction to the prospect of junking "rationalist," since for me, as a philosopher, that word picks out Descartes, Spinoza, and Leibniz.)
