Seems like an indication that a third tier of posts, possibly karma-free, might be a good idea. Something like Stupid Questions, or Beginner's Corner, or Sandbox, or...

I've been sporadically trying to get something like this done for AGES. There was even a forum made, but without official endorsement it got like 5 members and died within days.

If you were to offer a tested contrib to the LW code base, Trike might agree to add it on a trial basis, provided EY&Co approve. Not sure what their policies are.

No idea how to do that, and wont have for the foreseeable future... I just don't have the attention span for coding or hacking any more for medical reasons.
