Is that statement true, or false ? Is Eliezer (or, if you prefer, the average SIAI member) better at AI than everyone else (plus or minus epsilon) who is working in the field of AI ?

The prior probability for such a claim is quite low, especially since the field is quite large, and includes companies such as Google and IBM who have accomplished great things. In order to sway my belief in favor of Eliezer, I'll need to witness some great things that he has accomplished; and these great things should be significantly greater than those accomplished by the mainstream AI researchers. The same sentiment applies to SIAI as a whole.
