I was mostly annoyed with the inconsistencies in the characters' behavior, and their constant refusal to make an obvious logical decision. "Gonna suicide now" <failed to suicide, next scene:> "I will fight for my life with all my might!" Or: staying put solves the problem, so the character goes on a lengthy and dangerous journey. Or: asking an obvious question solves a thorny issue, so the character remains silent. The sequels appear to be even worse in that regard.
