Since I inherently desire to struggle for life regardless of whether or not my efforts will have any effect this argument does not alter my motivations or the decisions I will make. I'm perfectly fine with struggling for a lost cause if the process of struggling is either valuable or inevitable.

In a Big World, the process of struggling is all that we have, and success doesn't matter so much.
