I read Zimbardo's The Lucifer Effect, which discusses his Stanford prison experiment, such a strong meme... It was interesting to read some of the details about the experiment, but it becomes very clear that the whole experiment never really shows anything beyond 'hmm, that's interesting'. I find that exposure to LW ideas makes me less likely to enjoy some entertainment media that is otherwise quite popular, and finding media recommended by LWers is a good way to mitigate this.
