Good summary!
I was delighted when then-known-as-SI spun off the Summit. It was bizzare giving people who didn't really agree with us stage time, and in general non-core activities should be spun off. I think this is a very significant improvement and am likely to donate more to MIRI now (as I've donated in the past) than I would have had they kept the Summit in house.
Also it's nice to see that MIRI and SU successfully applied the coase theorem for optimal results.
