Moved to discussion because I forgot to actually motivate the problem and show that this solved it.
I will write that up and re-post it some time.
I was tempted to downvote the post: it did not have a summary upfront, the examples were confusing, the notation unnecessarily obfuscated, the purpose unclear. Looking forward to something better.
This just feels really promising, although I can't say I've really followed it all (you've lost me a couple posts ago on the math, but that's my fault). I'm waiting eagerly for the re-post.
Sorry for the long delay. I'm actually polishing up the next version right at this very moment. Expect something soon.
