General writing comment: this stopped me from reading the rest of your post. It's a mild crackpot signal.

Also, I really, really hate posts with weird spacing between paragraphs. I don't have a good reason for this.

It makes it really hard to focus on.

Same thing happens when people paste their articles from Word and the font ends up being different than the default.

Regarding whitespace, I usually like this style of spacing in articles. It makes it much easier to see what's going on and identify clusters of ideas.
It's like punctuation for paragraphs!

In this case, however, the whitespace seemed to have been placed at random and did not separate ideas.
