Once upon a time, dimly remembered, I heard that it had been found that sufficient practice with hand tools caused them to be mapped into the brain in the same ways body parts are. I have no citation, and I don't know how you'd measure that, but this seems plausible based on my what-it-feels-like-on-the-inside.
That is, the hypothesis I'm proposing for this case is that the human brain is already deeply equipped for “accurately moving objects we are in control of”.
