I am still seeking players for a multiplayer game of Victoria 2: Hearts of Darkness. We have converted from an earlier EU3 game, itself converted from CK2; the resulting history is very unlike our own. We are currently in 1844:

• Islamic Spain has publicly declared half of Europe to be dar al Harb, liable to attack at any time, while quietly seeking the return of its Caribbean colonies by diplomatic means.
• The Christian powers of Europe discuss the partition of Greece-across-the-sea, the much-decayed final remnant of the Roman Empire, which nonetheless rules eastern Africa from the Nile Delta to Lake Tanganyika.
• United India jostles with China for supremacy in Asia, both courting the lesser powers of Sind and the Mongol Khanate as allies in their struggle. The Malayan Sultanate, the world's foremost naval power, keeps its vast fleet as the balancing weight in these scales, supporting now one, now another as the advantage shifts - while keeping a wary eye on the West, looking for a European challenge to its Pacific hegemony.
• The Elbe, marking the border of the minor powers France-Allemagne and Bavaria, remains a flashpoint for Great-Power rivalries, as it has been for centuries. The diplomatic balance is once again shifting, with France-Allemagne opportunistically seeking support from Bavaria's historic protector Spain, Scandinavia eyeing the Baltic ports of both sides, and Russia seemingly distracted by imperial concerns in Asia.
• An enormous darkness shrouds the South American continent; where the ancient Inca kingdom has extended its rule, and its human sacrifices, from the Tierra del Fuego to the Rio Grande. Only a few Amazonian tribes, protected by the jungle canopy, maintain a precarious independence; and the Jaguar Knights are ever in search of new conquests to feed their gods. The oceans have protected Europe, and distance and desert North America; but an age of steam ships and iron horses dawns, and the globe shrinks. Beplumed cavalry may yet ride in triumph through the streets of London, and obsidian knives flash atop the Great Pyramid.

Several nations are available to play:

• Sind, an important regional power, occupying roughly the area of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and parts of Iran. Contend with India for the rule of the subcontinent!
• Najd, likewise a significant factor in the power-balance of both Asia and Europe, taking up most of the Middle East. Fight Russia for Anatolia, Greece for Africa, or ally with India to partition Sind!
• The Khanate, a landlocked power stretching from the Urals to very nearly the Pacific - but not quite, courtesy of the Korean War. Reverse the outcome and bring a new Mandate to rule China!
• Greece-in-exile, least among the powers that bestride the Earth - that is, not counting the various city-states, vassals, and half-independent border marches that some Great Powers find it convenient to maintain. Take on usurping Italia Renata, bullying Russia and infidel Spain, and restore the glory that was Rome!
