Oddly, if you click Article Navigation and try to go to the last open thread, it goes back to October 2011. Same if you click "openthread" under Article Navigation. Possibly it's an issue where Article Navigation is only reflecting articles in Main and not Discussion. But if you click openthread under "Tags" it lists the proper ones in Discussion.
You're right. I'd recommend submitting the issue here
It appears that it is already in the system, I think.
