I half-expected Peter to finish with, "Revenge? Of course. It's just that the real enemy is death, and this is my revenge."
I suppose that makes more sense than what FeepingCreature came up with on reddit:
"Revenge?" asked Peter, a slight note of shock in his voice. "On a whale? No, I decided I'd just get on with my life."
