This reporter (Ross Andersen) also wrote a piece on Bostrom. So I'm gonna guess that it's not about Elon Musk getting things through Ross, but rather Ross writing what he wanted to write. In short, yay Ross Andersen.
He seems to be interested in existential risks (although I am unfamiliar with what exactly being on the advisory board of this organization entails). More articles by the same author are available here, here and here
