It could be, that some bellow human level (general or not) intelligence explodes into (general) superintelligence.

It's worth to consider that case, too.

A system which can perform language acquisition but does not start out knowing a language might appear like this. It might start out with fewer overall abilities than an infant, but grow its abilities rapidly.
