The clusterfuck in medical science with some well-intentioned attempts to do it better, not actually well, but somewhat better.
Edited to add: A follow-up on the deworming wars (which might be of interest to EAs as, I think deworming was considered to be an very effective intervention) in this blog -- and read the discussion in the comments.
