Usul, I'm one of the galactic overlords in charge of earth. I have some very bad news for you. Every night when you (or any other human) go to sleep your brain and body are disintegrated, and a reasonably accurate copy is put in their place. But, I have a deal for you. For the next month we won't do this to you, however after a month has passed we will again destroy your body and brain but then won't make any more copies so you will die in the traditional sense. (There is no afterlife for humans.) Do you agree?

Imagine that every night, when you go to sleep, you are taken off to be tortured and you are replaced by a reasonably accurate clone. The fact that no-one on Earth have noticed doesn't mean that this isn't a bad thing!

Imagine that every fraction of a second you are torn apart to pieces in vacuum, and only the copy of you which is not a Boltzmann brain survives.
