Anyone know of the best vitamins/minerals/supplements to take for promoting bone growth and healing?

It seems calcium and vitamin D are pretty commonly recommended. And rational dissent on this? Any others that should be taken?

Theoretically, you should actually measure your blood levels of vitamin D and then get them to optimum levels and maintain them there. If you don't know what your baseline is, you don't know how much to take.

Other than that, vitamins A and K are synergistic with D.
