This all seems pretty ordinary and uncontroversial to me. It's about what I'd expect when 'doing it right'.
Well, I was trying to err on the safe side, with warnings and all. So maybe I just succeeded.
Still, I would expect someone to say what you just did also in the world in which I was getting a lot of extreme reactions. (There would certainly be some folks who happened to be in a similar place.)
