I second theruf's "what". The card reads like anti-deathism, not deathism. (Also, what the heck does "not firewalled from rationalism" mean?)

Sorry, I was being jargony. See Firewalling the Optimal from the Rational.

This is why I'm a big fan of the Yudkowskian practice of turning all instances of jargon in the text (or at least, the first appearance of any jargony term in a post) into a link to the relevant post/etc.

The term "rationalism" has a previously-established meaning quite different from LW-style rationality.

IMO."freethinker" captures the intended reference better.

To me "freethinker" conjures up associations with smug atheist and "skeptic" communities, so I'm not sure if I would consider it better.
