Welcome to Five Worlds Collide, the (un)conference for effective altruism, quantified self, rationality/scientific thinking, transhumanism and artificial intelligence.

What: Present your own thoughts and projects, get inspired by new input, discuss, disagree, change your mind and grow – and connect with new amazing people and form ideas and projects together. In practice this means next to five keynote talks there will be a lot of opportunity to give short lightning talks yourself.

When: it starts in the evening of Friday the 4th of December - and ends in the evening on Sunday the 6th of December 2015 (so it's 2,5 days)

Where: sektor5 is an amazing and huge coworking space in Vienna. They even won the “Best Coworking Space” in the Austrian national round of the Central European Startup Awards 2015!

How much: the ticket for the event will be 50 Euro. This is the absolute minimum needed to create this event so there is also the option on Eventbrite to donate additional money to make the event as great as possible. (Any overshoot will be used for "Effective Altruism Austria" and/or donated effectively to GiveWell top charities.)

The “five wolds” we want to link already have a huge overlap. People who are interested in one of those topics are in most cases also interested in another one. We'll be meeting in the Starbucks next to Vue cinema and the river Kennet, in the Oracle Shopping Centre (Riverside Entrance). I'll be there from 6pm and I'll stay for at least two hours (longer, if enough people turn up to make it a proper meeting). There will be at least one other person there (so, at least two of us). I will have a whiteboard with paperclips drawn on it and "LessWrong" written on it, wear my EAG shirt and have a makeshift Slytherin badge on (there is at least an 85% chance I forget at least one of those things, in which case just look for the group of geeks - it's quite a small Starbucks so it ought to be obvious enough).

This is our first meeting and we're planning to make it a regular thing if we get enough interest, so this one will probably be focused on introducing ourselves and discussing plans. We'll hopefully announce more, so don't worry if you miss the first one.

After a long hiatus the LW Hamburg Meetup restarts in full force. The energy of the LW Berlin Community Event has brought some of us together and motivated us to try something lager this time. And we hope to attract old and new people who want to help improve each other lives with talk, games and fun.

We have a fine location neer Hamburg main station. Reachable via U1 Lohmühlenstraße. You have to arrive between 6 and 7 PM (or else contact me) to be let in (the janitor will be informed).
