Social Meetups are on the third Friday of every month. They are casual get-togethers where we chat about interesting topics and sometimes play games.

Where? Alchemist's Refuge, 328 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne VIC 3000

When? From 6:30pm until late. Start and finish times are very loose - feel free to show up whenever is convenient

Dinner? The Refuge has some basic snacks, but there are a lot of good places nearby where you can get food (some also deliver to the Refuge). If you are able to wait, we traditionally go to Stalactites (24 hour Greek restaurant) at around 11pm.

The Melbourne LessWrong social meetup is on again as scheduled! Sorry for the late notice.

Our social meetups happen on the third Friday of every month. They are informal events where we get together for a chat and often play a few games. The start and finish times are very loose, so feel free to arrive late or leave early or both - drop by for whatever time you like.

Alchemist's Refuge stocks drinks but does not not serve food beyond packets of crisps, however there are a number of take-away places nearby (including some that deliver - the bar staff can give recommendations). We have a tradition of going to Stalactites (24hr Greek restaurant) for a souvlaki after the meetup if you would like to wait!

Games? The Refuge has a selection of games available to borrow and you are also welcome to bring any board games, card games, etc that you'd like to play. You should be able to organise a group to play pretty easily. Otherwise you can sit around and chat!

IMPORTANT: CHANGE OF VENUE IMPORTANT: Due to a date mixup the trivia is NOT going ahead. We are instead going to play games at Games Lab / Alchemist's Refuge For August's social LW meetup, we will be going to Alchemist's Refuge, a quiet basement bar that is boardgame friendly. We'll meet there starting from 6:30pm. If we have any large groups that would like to play games, there is plenty of space upstairs in Games Lab. The social meetup is on again for July! This time we will be meeting in Blackburn. Come along for a chat and a game or two.

We'll be starting at 6:30pm, but we'll probably go pretty late. Drop by whenever is convenient.

Snack foods will be provided and we'll probably get some pizza or something for dinner.

PLEASE NOTE: CHANGE OF LOCATION

April's regular Social meetup is on this month, but our usual venue is no longer available, so we're going to experiment with the location. This month we are in Glen Waverley (see below for transport arrangements).

Social meetups are casual affairs where we chat and play games. We usually arrange some form of take-away for dinner for any who want to be part of it, but feel free to bring your own dinner if you'd prefer. The official start time is 18:30 but you won't upset anything if you turn up later on.

For this month, we are in Glen Waverley. If you're coming by public transport, catch a train on the Glen Waverley line and get off at Glen Waverley, then you can call either me (Richard, 0421-231-789) or Scott (0432-862-932) and we'll do a quick run to the station. Otherwise, there's plenty of parking nearby.
