I'm not impressed. The burden of proving it is science lies with the claimant. Drexler's site appeals to physical scaling laws, which to me makes it pseudoscientific speculation, or perhaps scientific speculation (with a little more convincing). Thorne and Braginsky's massive LIGO paper is an example of one that progresses to scientific status. It follows curves already established experimentally, and so is much more believable.
It's not scientific to say "all flying machines crash"; the scientist must (and is usually more than willing) to provide physical laws and scaling suggestions that back up the assertion. Peter Woit had a good point these last few days--real science is hard... (read more)
I think logicnazi is closer. "Electricity" is not the password, but a citation of the studies and laws that the teacher claims are relevant. The only reason why this answer might eliminate curiosity is because either a) you already learned all about "electricity" and merely forgot to apply it here b) you have decided that the category of studies labeled "electricity" shall interest you no longer, and are content to let the wizards and nerds deal with it or c) as long as it makes sense to some trusted agents, you are content enough to avert an existential breakdown. Curiosity is either inapplicable, denied, or under your threshold. The rest of your essay is then just more blathering.
I tell my little brother to try to tell stories using half as many words as he usually does. Maybe if you finally think of something worth saying you should try that.
