I think I missed the poll for the date, so is it going to be Thursday the 28th?

WARNING: We might meet at c-base instead which is also at S Jannowitzbruecke. If it works out, the change of location will be announced on the mailing list and here at least a day in advance.
Our plans for this time are:
- Discuss plans and make public commitments
- Discuss answers to LW census survey
- Self-improvement open space
As usual, I'll be there slightly early and bring a sign.

Warning: The meetup will start 19:30 local time, the time shown in the description already adjusts for the change in daylight-saving time.
We're meeting in a new location with less noise and round tables! There'll be a sign saying 'Less Wrong' on our table.
Plans:
- Alexander: Discuss: http://lesswrong.com/lw/he/knowing_about_biases_can_hurt_people/
- Christian: Discuss: http://lesswrong.com/lw/eqn/the_useful_idea_of_truth/
- Christian: Commitments
- Christian: Self-improvement open space
Please read the articles before the meetup. Alexander and me will provide brief summaries so you can participate even if you haven't read them - but it'll be more interesting if you have.

NOTE: We switched venue to Spreegold ALEXANDERPLATZ, Rosa Luxemburg-Straße 2, 10178 Berlin.
It looks like we'll be at least eight people, so it'll likely be our biggest gathering yet! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.
If you're attending for the first time: We have a mailing list where the planning happens. Feel free to sign up. I'll also bring a sign saying 'LessWrong' in big, friendly - although red - letters.
Here's the current plan and comments:
- Michael: Discuss recent sequence http://lesswrong.com/tag/seq_epistemology/
- Christian: Meta discussion limited to 30 minutes: How to improve the meetup? What do we want to achieve?
- Christian: Share goals and projects. Let’s start with just sharing so the others know what interests us. No long discussion intended, so it shouldn’t consume too much time.
- Jan: Calibration game using Gambit 7 questions
- Christian: rejection therapy follow-up
- Christian: evaluate commitments and make new ones
- Christian: agree on meetup scheduling for next time: suggestion: use doodle again, clarify ifneedbe, use highest yes+ifneedbe. If >8 attendants again next time, switch to fixed-day schedule. (we'll make a new poll, but this one would suggest meeting every 2 weeks and alternating saturday and tuesday)
- Alexander: 'Hypothetical Apostasies' game from booklet. Choosing a belief in advance would help. The current candidate is 'taking untested recreational drugs is good'. Note feedback comment below.
Semi-anonymous feedback:
- Some kind of moderation during focused discussion would be nice - to end or defer tangents and keep discussion moving
- Jan: Seconded. I volunteer to moderate.
- Jan: And I looked at the ‘Hypothetical Apostasies’ game. The current belief seems not too well suited (too easy to argue against and not important enough). But I don’t think we need one in advance, since one of the purposes seems arguing against it on the spot. I have a few ideas we could use though.

It's on Friday the 28th. The poll was sent via the mailing list, I'm not sure whether you're subscribed to it.

Plans from last meetup:
- discuss http://lesswrong.com/lw/4su/how_to_be_happy/
- WingedViper wanted to look at and maybe prepare something from the LW meetup booklet (http://lesswrong.com/lw/crs/how_to_run_a_successful_less_wrong_meetup/)
- another round of spuckblase's prediction game
The scheduling poll indicated that there should be at least 3-5 people. I'll bring a sign to point us out to anyone dropping by spontaneously.
See you there!

E-book readers such as the Kindle
I use mine way more often than I originally expected. The low weight means I can have it in my bag by default. A lot of content is available in e-book format and it's easy to get onto the device. Reading lengthy articles on it makes me less likely to get distracted by links, email, etc.
The unexpected killer feature for me was that you can use it one-handedly. I've been carrying my sleeping daughter and reading at the same time for hours - that would have been impossible or at least prohibitively uncomfortable with a book.

Great document! Were there any major changes from the last version on google docs?
Some comments:
The "Add new meetup" button described in "Making the announcement" only appears if you have more than two points of karma. While most organizers probably meet that requirement, I thought I simply hadn't found the right place and had to ask someone. I'd prefer if the button showed, but was disabled and had a "need two karma for that" tooltip for people with <2 karma over adding the information to the document.
In the section on Liar's dice:
See Wikipedia for a number of variants, as well as detailed information about the bidding systems.
Unfortunately the descriptions of the various bidding systems were recently removed from Wikipedia. This is the last revision that has them.

When's the next meetup?
The meetup after this one isn't planned yet. We'll probably use a doodle poll that's sent around on the mailing list to find a good day again. Also check the note about scheduling in this meetup's announcement.
