You are invited to come to the May Munich LW Meeutp! One of our regulars will give a short talk, probably about meditation. Everyone is welcome to bring articles to discuss, rationality-related games to play etc. Like in April, we're planning to meet outside the mathematics building at the LMU. Depending on the weather, we'll stay outside or occupy a free room inside the math department. Whoever brings food for the group is awesome. :) It goes without saying that newcomers are very welcome

Since our last meetup's format seemed to work pretty well, April's meetup is going to be not too different. We have one or two short talks planned, one of them will be about Near/Far effects. Afterwards we'll move on to free discussion and maybe Zendo. We're planning to meet outside the mathematics building at the LMU. We're going to try a different location this time, and a different format – I'd like to do a few concrete exercises on basic probability theory or something similar. Hi everybody! The next almost-monthly Munich meetup will be on Saturday, December 7th at 2 pm. We've got a book review planned, and otherwise just more or less structured discussion and maybe Zendo. Like last time, we'll meet at Gast near Rosenheimer Platz. We're always glad to see new people there.

The next meetup in Munich will be on Saturday, June 1st. At the last meetup, we decided that we would read the first three posts of the new Epistemology sequence until June, so we can try a more focused discussion the next time. Of course, if you haven’t read them, or if you are new to LessWrong, you are welcome, too. If you have any suggestions for discussion topics or activities, it would be great if you could post them as a comment here.

The next Munich meetup will take place on April 1st (as decided in the doodle). If the weather is sunny, we will meet outside, somewhere in Englischer Garten, in case of bad weather, the location is the café at Gasteig (right behind the escalator going up to the Stadtbücherei). Edit: Yeah, that’s indoors weather. We’ll meet at Gasteig. We don’t have any specific activities planned, but I think it would be fun to try Zendo. You should come and say hi, no matter how long you’ve been reading LessWrong. If you plan to attend, please (optionally) post a comment saying what topics you’d like to discuss.

Help needed: German translation of the Singularity FAQ
At lukeprog's suggestion, I translated the Singularity FAQ into German. Unfortunately, Tripitaka, who volunteered to proofread, doesn't seem to have read my messages. As the translation is far from perfect, I ask German-speaking users to help with finalizing the text. Also, I have no objections if you'd like to upvote this post (and the comments of anyone who participates) as a way of incentivizing this kind of work.
The whole text should be proofread at least once, but you could help a great deal just by going over the highlighted sections. It helps if you are knowledgeable on the subject. The document is on Google docs, editable by anyone. I have made a backup and I think you can revert changes Wikipedia-style, so edit away!
Here it is.
Side-by-side version (comment only, changes should be made in the other version).
To-do-list.
