I think that people like Kafka and Camus definitely deserve a mention in a discussion of the greatest writers in history. Their ability to intertwine the real and the absurd with a compelling narrative merit both of them a mention. Sartre is also an exceptionally good novelist, and is marvelously good at writing in a light-hearted, yet philosophically dense manner.
