One of the great virtues is having a lot of flexibility in what you're shown. In particular, you can choose to not see anything by a given poster.

I was mostly thinking of trn as a way of making it more feasible to follow what you want to read in high-volume discussions, but it's also a way of defusing quarrels, and I think it would be especially handy now.
