Can you specify if the copy of me I'm working to create is Different Everett-Branch Me or Two Days In The Future Me? That will effect my answer, as I have a bit of a prejudice. I know it's somewhat inconsistent, but I think I'm a Everett-Branch-ist
Don't you create a bajillion of those every second anyway? You'd want to be getting more than one for a day's work in the trench. Heck, you get at least one new Different Everett-Branch you in the process of deciding whether or not to work for a new 'you'. Hopefully you're specifying just how big a slice of Everett pie the new you gets!
Well the question seems to assume that this isn't really the case, or at least not in any significantly meaningful way. Otherwise why ask? Maybe it's a lead-in to "if you'd work for 1 hour to make another you-copy, why won't you put in X-amount of effort to slightly increase your measure"?
