That the overwhelming majority of those who share this intense motivation are women (it seems) just makes me more confused.

Is there evidence for this? Specifically the "intense" part?

ETA: Did you ask her why she had such strong feelings about it? Was she able to answer?

The evidence is largely anecdotal, I think. There are certainly stories of cryonics ending marriages out there.

I haven't yet asked her about it, but I plan to do so next time we talk.
