WFG gave this reply which was downvoted under the default voting threshold:

Agree except for the 'terrorism' and 'allegedly' part.

I just emailed a right-wing blogger some stuff that probably isn't good for the future. Not sure what the increase was, hopefully around 0.0001%.

I'll write it up in more detail and post a top-level discussion thread after work.

I'm also reposting this just in case wfg tries to delete it or modify it later, since I think it's important for everyone to see. Ordinarily I'd consider that a violation of netiquette, but under these here exact circumstances...

Wow, that manages to signal a willingness to use unnecessarily risky tactics, malignancy AND marginal incompetence.

While I do understand that right wing people are naturally the kind of people who bring about increased existential risks, I think my own occasional emails to left wing blogers aren't' that shabby (since that makes me a dirty commie enabler). In fact I email all sorts of blogers with questions and citations to papers they might be interested in.

Muhahahaha.

How does one even estimate something like 0.0001% increase of existential risk out of something like sending an email to a blogger? The error bars on the thing are vast. All you are doing is putting up a giant sign with negative characteristics that will make people want to cooperate with you less.
