My primary partner is curious about this sort of thing, since unsurprisingly I talk about it all the time. Should I be thinking about going on my own or both of us going? We live in London UK.
Someone at the last minicamp brought his partner, and she seemed to like it. She was highly educated (a PhD student at Harvard in a mathematical science), and wasn't much into LessWrong before coming.
Depending on your partner, I'd consider coming together. If you come with a close associate of any sort, you'll have someone in your life afterward who can help you remember to practice the techniques in daily life.
Do mark on your application if you / your partner much prefer to come with a particular other person, so that we can evaluate your applications jointly.
Thanks! She's reminded me of some practical reasons she can't go this time. Hopefully we'll be bringing this to London before long.
When do you hope to answer applications? The sooner I can book flights the better :)
