Discussion article for the meetup : Austin, TX - HPMoR Wrap Party

WHEN: 14 March 2015 05:00:00PM (-0600)

WHERE: 4212 Hookbilled Kite Drive

The next meetup is March 14th, 2015 at 6:00PM at a private residence (newcomers, especially from places other than Austin, are welcome!). We'll be celebrating the end of HPMoR; there will be food of both the dinner and snack varieties, as well as a wealth of pies. (Feel free to bring food if you'd like, but we expect to have enough even if you don't.)

The topic of the March 21st meetup will be Fun and Games. (Suggest ideas for future topics!)

If you have any questions or want to get my phone number to make sure you find us, please send me a private message. I'll notice and respond to those much more quickly than I'll notice comments on this meetup announcement.

We have a Google Group here.

I look forward to attending!

Hey all. This is a quick note that a few of us will be meeting today (Nov. 30, 2013) despite the thanksgiving break.

I went and had fun! I'll be going to them every week, in the absence of other plans.

I will come, unless I utterly space it off and forget.

Your meet up is planned for the year 2019, can you correct it?

This is currently deliberate, and I plan on restoring it to the current year as soon as we get functionality for automatically recurring meetup notices.

Do these meetups still take place?

Yes, but things are spottier over the summer. (I wasn't there last week, and won't be there this week either.) Feel free to PM me if you're thinking of coming, since I can tell you who is planning to be there that week and my phone number so you can be sure to find us.

How many people come to this? I'll be in town for the weekend (Infosec Southwest), so might be able to stop by.

Ack, sorry I missed this! We typically get 3-5 people; it was 3 on Saturday.

For some reason the Austin meetups keep getting posted as occurring in 2018. Have any ideas why?

2018 has the same days of the week as 2012 (at least for the relevant months). This way, I can edit the same meetup post to adjust the date, rather than having to make a new one each week and spam discussion.

I'm in Austin for the summer and plan to make this my first LW meetup.

Now I've come on public record and increased the chance that I actually go.
