This is to say that I've read through the whole thing, and so far have not found any problems other than those Wei has raised.
That is all. [...except, I find it weird that j is what Y returns -- it feels reversed. Aesthetically, I'd prefer it if Search(.,.) was passed the mask as its first argument. -- And, of course: good luck! Hope the remaining questions will work out.]
Wow, upvoted for sticking your neck out. We don't have enough incentives to say this sort of thing - it doesn't have the same kudos as saying something new, and it risks you getting some egg on your face if there's a problem you didn't spot - but it's really useful, so have my upvote.
