Closely related is the "horns effect," named by analogy to the "halo effect."
Sort of. From what I understand, the halo/horns effects are about how favorable/unfavorable characteristics of the person influence beliefs you have about the person. Like how smart or skilled they are. Not about whether claims unrelated to the person are true.
