$2000 ... that's comparable to the estimated cost of saving one life in Africa by donating to one of the most effective charities.

Now that the funding gap of the AMF has closed, I'm not sure this is still the case.

Yeah, I wondered about adding a note to that effect. But it seems unlikely to me that the AMF is that much more effective than everything else out there. Maybe it's $4000 now. Maybe it always was $4000. Or $1000. I don't think the exact numbers are very critical.

I don't know, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's no way to reliably do it with less than $5000.
