I don't recommend it, but I'll have to see individual cases to know whether I'd bring down the banhammer.
As a general thing, I don't recommend using insults which might stabilize bad behavior by making it part of a person's identity. Also, I have a gut level belief that people are less likely to think clearly when they're angry.
