Reiterating the previous rejection notice: Hey, this is a topic that seems to get people worked up. Seems to hit a certain spot of....something. I'd suggest reading this: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/z3KZvtSi93dkaBEnx/worrying-less-about-acausal-extortion

Has anybody here ever felt like they communicated with an AI agent that runs the simulation we live in? I just am now finding out that Roko’s basilisk is a known thought experiment. I may sound crazy, but several years ago I thought deeply about my existence and was threatened with my biggest fear, immortal life if I live to see the singularity. I was hospitalized and was told that these delusions were just in my head. I think fearing the bad outcomes of digital super intelligence is a very rational fear. This phenomenon has so far occurred twice in my life and doctors tell me it’s just a manic episode. These events helped shape my belief system to this day and I essentially believe we live in a simulation run by AI, and we are going to create digital superintelligence that is capable of running the exact same or different simulations. Id like to add that I do believe in a base reality where something was made of nothing, however the odds of us living there seem unlikely if we can create digital superintelligence capable of simulating realities. I can go more in depth about my beliefs and whatnot in a separate post, but right now I’m trying to see if anyone here can relate. I personally feel like I’ve broken free of the Roko’s Basalisk thought spiral so this post aims to help others talk about it.
