I'm attempting NaNoWriMo, and therefore plan to have written a large amount of fictional words by the end of the month.
I also plan to have made a substantial amount of progress on writing a desktop widget thingy that I have an instrumental need for
By the end of this month I'll have made a top level LessWrong post. Promise.
EDIT (Jan 2012): Ahahahahaha.
A funny idea. My goal is to work further into these issues. Of course I have a precise idea what to do in which order, but as amateur-math reader my attitude is generic lazyness which only occasional deforms into real studying. Unfortunately some friends with whom I discuss those issues are away for more than a month, so there is not much of external motivation.
If you have a goal that can be credibly achieved by the end of the month reply to this post. At the end of the month everybody who posted writes up their experiences, lessons in overcoming akrasia etc. as a reply to their original comment or by editing the original.
Whether you want to share the goal before the end of the month is up to you, pros, you are accountable, cons, you may feel a sense of accomplishment just by saying it and not do anything.
