I'm not convinved goal setting is a good idea but I think it is worth trying. One tenet of LW seems to be to focus on achieving - not trying. That's the reason there is the bragging thread.

But maybe if the goals are smart this would that putting more structure into the goals.

Second, with the caveat that I want to praise OP for actually doing something. I think LW is too critical, which leads to less and less stuff being posted over time.
