You can buy traveler's health insurance; it is not hard to find policies that will transport you to the nearest safe hospital, by airlift if necessary, and back to your home country if needed.
I disagree. I can only see health insurance domestically and travel insurance for sale separately.
Disclaimer I am not recommending this service specifically, it was just the first result when I Googled
I was talking about things like this -- this one is only for American citizens, but I would be surprised if you couldn't find an equivalent service in most developed nations.
